January 31 Update

Important Dates

Appointments and Early Pickups from School

If you need to make arrangements to pick up your child early from school, please utilize your child’s agenda and/or classroom apps to inform their teacher. Teachers are getting many calls into their classes for these types of arrangements and the teachers are finding it disruptive.  Of course, please call the office for emergent issues.  Thank you so much for your understanding.

Movie Night

Thanks to our Wellness Committee and all our volunteers, Movie Night was a fantastic success!  I appreciate our Wellness Committee's commitment to healthy snacks as only popcorn was for sale. Many families brought their own water bottles and containers for popcorn which made the event almost waste-free. Clean up after the event was so easy.  Way to go, Mustangs!

Wellness Committee

Pink Shirt Day is coming up next month! On Wednesday, February 26 we celebrate friendship, spread kindness and stand up against bullying. We will be selling pink shirts online through the Hot Lunch website from February 1 until February 13 until 11:00 pm. During Student-Led Conferences, Wednesday, February 12 and Thursday, February 13 from 4:00-7:00 pm, we will have a table for viewing and sizing shirts as well as CASH ONLY sales. T-shirts will be $12 and proceeds will go towards a healthy snack initiative for students. T-shirts will be handed out on Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25.

Active School Travel (AST)

Wednesday, February 5 is Winter Walk Day! SHAPE, Safe Healthy Active People Everywhere, a non-profit organization encourages Albertans to "Open the Door and Go For It!"  Last year on this day, more than 800 organizations and 100,000 Albertans took part. Posters will be placed outside of students' classrooms for them to record how they travelled to school that day. On December's Winter Walk Day, we had 34% of our students actively travel to school, let's see if we can beat that for February! For tips on winter walking or why love winter walking check out these links.
